In Loving Memory of Maddie Sue "Boost" Bradfield

Maddie's journey began in May of 2006 when she was rescued from a trash bag found along a road. She quickly found her way to her forever family.

Maddie lived with Christine and Felicia until Jason and Christine married, creating a new and just as loving home where Maddie lived until her peaceful passing on September 16, 2023, in her favorite spot, cradled by Mommy and Daddy.

Maddie's life had countless cherished memories. She had a sensitive stomach but adored special treats in her early years. The sound of canned whipped cream sent her running from across the house. Car rides with Felicia always included a coveted McDonald's burger. Remarkably, she had a knack for digesting Christine's discarded jalapeños from Chipotle meals. In daily life, Maddie was ever-present. She and Christine shared the comforting ritual of afternoon naps on the couch, with Maddie nestled under Christine's feet. In her young years, nights were spent in Felicia's bed, and later she found her place in Jason and Christine's bed, complete with the soothing sound of Maddie licking her paws, a unique lullaby that became a source of comfort for Christine. In her last years, Maddie preferred her own bed, next to Jason, for comfort on her aging joints.

The arrival of Christine and Jason’s daughter, Ella, ushered in a new chapter in Maddie's life. At 11 years old, she seamlessly transitioned into her role as a sister, protector, friend and playmate. From pushing toys toward Ella with her nose during infancy to sitting patiently for storytime and art sessions, Maddie was a bonded companion to Ella.

Words will never do justice to who Maddie was and what she means to her family. She was more than a pet; she was a constant companion through the twists and turns of Jason and Christine's journey through adulthood, college, marriage, and six precious years of parenthood with Ella. She was a confidant, a soul mate, a source of unwavering love and loyalty. As the family's longest-standing member, she was a pillar of stability and security in a rapidly changing world.

Even in her senior years, Maddie's quiet presence was a source of solace. Maddie maintained her enduring spirit even in old age, bounding up the stairs like a puppy when she came inside from outside, a joyful reminder of her youthful energy. Her determined and stubborn spirit remained throughout her life, making her all the more special.

While many old dogs become temperamental, Maddie remained sweet and gentle throughout her golden years, a testament to her loving nature and remarkable disposition.

Have a spectacular time in Heaven, our sweet puppy, our first child; you will always be in our hearts until we can once again feel the warmth of your affectionate forehead, the softness of your curled ears, and the gentleness of your kisses.

A memorial service to celebrate Maddie's life will be held at Rolling Acres Pet Memorial Center, located at 12200 NW Crooked Rd, Kansas City, MO 64152, on Friday, October 27th at 2 pm.
