How many times have you wondered "Will I get my own pet back?" when thinking
about a Private Cremation for your pet? By using our cremation service, you will be
able to answer "Yes, I will, because Rolling Acres will be cremating my pet." The pets
we pick up for Private Cremation are cremated individually. Rolling Acres cremates one
pet at a time. We have a chain of custody, with a system of checks and balances by
which we keep track of your pet. These include when your pet is picked up at a
veterinary clinic or brought to Rolling Acres Memorial Gardens, an authorization form is
filled out, and an identification tag is placed on your pet. This identification tag stays
with the pet throughout the cremation process. When the cremation process is
complete, your pet's cremains, along with his tag, are brought into our office. The
cremains are then packaged for return to the family. Therefore, the family can be
assured they will get their pet back, only their pet, and all of their pet.
•
Our cremators are state-of-the art. There is a difference in cremators and therefore in
the quality of the cremated remains (cremains) of pets. We take pride in the fact that
the cremains of the pets we cremate are virtually white, which means the body has
been fully combusted.
•
We keep a Cremation Log which shows the name of the veterinary clinic (if applicable),
the family's last name, the pet's name, the time the pet was placed in the cremation
chamber and the time the pet's cremains were removed from the cremation chamber.
•
After the communal cremations are cremated, we scatter them on the cemetery
property. Rolling Acres is a very pretty and peaceful place for people to come visit. You
are welcome to visit.
•
Rolling Acres operates two refrigerated trucks in which to place the pets we pick up,
providing dignity and respect to the pets. We also have two covered, non-refrigerated,
trucks for backup vehicles.
•
Pets are our only business. We believe cremating only pets is part of handling
deceased pets with the respect they deserve. There is no chance of a pet's cremains
being contaminated by anything, such as paper, drugs, drug paraphernalia, glass, or
metal. Rolling Acres has a permit to cremate pets. We have chosen not to be
"permitted" to cremate hazardous waste and sharps.
•
Our staff has enough depth, so we can always provide the services we are called upon
to provide, in a timely and professional manner.
•
Your pet will be cremated within 3 business days after we receive the pet's body.
Saturday is a business day for us. The pet's cremains are in a basic urn which is sized
according to the size of the pet, unless a decorative urn is selected.
•
Rolling Acres offers a free pickup service at the veterinarian clinics on Tuesdays and
Fridays. We also deliver the Private Cremations back to the clinics on Tuesdays and
Fridays.
•
Our President, Nancy Piper, came from a background in human cemeteries and funeral
homes. Bodies are refrigerated. One body at a time is cremated. This is very important
to us. We think it should be to you, also. But it costs more to do things right, the way
things should be done.
•
Rolling Acres personnel is available 24/7 to give immediate assistance to families, as
needed. Our telephone system prompts the family on how to reach us.
•
Rolling Acres has two certified Grief Recovery Specialists on staff for group or
individual counseling. Our Pet Grief Recovery Group meets the second Wednesday of
each month at 6:30 P.M. at Rolling Acres, free of charge.
•
Rolling Acres Memorial Gardens for Pets has provided professional quality cremation
services to the Kansas City area since 1973. We always strive to provide
compassionate, dignified and ethical service to all the people we serve, veterinarians
and public alike.
•
Rolling Acres Memorial Gardens for Pets is a full service facility, offering burial and
cremation, including visitations, graveside committal services, attended cremations,
and a full line of products such as urns, caskets, and memorials.
•
If you chose to have your pet buried, the cemetery at Rolling Acres Memorial Gardens
for Pets is deeded to only be used as a cemetery. The land is deed-restricted. An
established trust fund will care for the cemetery in future years.
If you arrange for cremation through your veterinarian, ask if they use Rolling Acres as
their cremation provider. Although we provide cremation services for the majority of the
veterinarians in the Kansas City Metropolitan area, there are some veterinarians who
don't use our services. If your veterinarian is one who doesn't use our services, ask for
Rolling Acres to cremate your beloved pet. Then call and make arrangements for us to
pick up your pet from your veterinarian's office.
