Good, loyal friends are cherished. Sometimes they come in the form of a loving dog or cat who know just when to cuddle up next to you. Perhaps your best friend is a beloved bird, reptile, or rodent. Or maybe your favorite companion lives in the barn, where you go to relax and visit.
If you have lost such a good friend or are faced with deciding the future of that friend, we're here to help. We will listen without judging and support you through this difficult time.
The Pet Grief Support Group offers a casual setting where questions and concerns about the pet's death as well as the emotional reactions to the loss can be discussed. Participants are invited to bring pictures and share memories of the animals's life. The goal is to aid in the grieving process by allowing people to talk about the pain of this unique loss with others who understand how they feel.
There is no charge for the group and it is open to anyone grieving or trying to prepare for the death of an animal companion. The Pet Grief Support Group meets at Rolling Acres Memorial Gardens for Pets on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 PM. For more information, call Nancy at Rolling Acres 816-891-8888
